Blue Peace
The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) wants to bring peace to the Middle East.
The Blue Peace movement’s lofty ambition is to create a peace culture and to foster economic prosperity, resilience building, trust and stability, by sharing the common interests of preserving the precious resources of fresh water and achieving equitable and sustainable use of water across boundaries, sectors and generations.
Their initial focus is a project for Disseminating Knowledge To Improve Agricultural Water Use Efficiency.
The working group includes the Water Institutes of Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Iraq and Iran.
We wish the Blue Peace movement every success and hope that it will also turn its attention to reducing losses in the distribution network as well as irrigation water efficiency.
